Grading:   

Final grade is determined by the following scheme:

  • Final Exam 30%
  • Midterm 20%
  • Homework: 35%
  • Quizzes 15%

In order to pass this course, you must take the final exam!

Midterm

Wednesday, October 27, 2:10-3:30pm,

Location: Goldsmith 116

Final Exam

Monday, December 13, 1:30-4:30pm,

Location: Shapiro Science Center LL16

No make-ups are allowed for the midterm or for the final examination. Bring a photo ID card to every midterm and to the final. No calculators, books, or notes will be permitted on the midterm or the final.

Homework:

Homework is due at the beginning of lecture. Label each homework clearly with your name and class (Math 30A), and staple the pages together. Enumerate your problems.

Late homework will be subject to penalty and in no case will be accepted more than one week after the due date.

Quizzes:

There will be four short (15-20 minute) quizzes. There are no make-up quizzes, although the lowest score will be dropped. The quizzes are tentatively scheduled for Sept. 22nd, Oct. 13th, Nov. 17th, and Dec. 6th.
