Grading:   

Final grade is determined by the following scheme:

  • Midterm 1 - Modules/Linear Algebra: 25%
  • Midterm 2 - Fields/Galois Theory: 25%
  • Homework: 35%
  • Quizzes: 15%

Midterm 2

No make-ups will be given for the midterms. Bring a photo ID card to every midterm and to the final. No calculators, books, or notes will be permitted on the exams.

Homework:

Homework is due at the beginning of lecture. Label each homework clearly with your name and class (Math 30B), and staple the pages together. Enumerate your problems.

Late homework will be subject to penalty and in no case will it be accepted more than one week after the due date.

Quizzes:

There will be two short (15-20 minute) quizzes. There are no make-up quizzes. The quizzes are tentatively scheduled for Friday, Feb. 11th and Friday, April 1st.
